Les bottes de pluie a la mode / Fancy Rain boots

Cet hiver a San Francisco, les grands font comme les petits, ils portent des bottes de pluie quand le temps est au gris. Mais attention, pas n'importe quelles bottes de pluie. On voit fleurir des bottes tres design, hautes en couleur et la plupart du temps assorties au manteau ou a la veste. On est a San Francisco quand meme!

This winter in San Francisco, the grown-up are doing like the little ones: they are wearing rain boots. But it's not your old green rain boots for gardening. These boots are very colorful with motifs, very design, and more often than not, they are color-matching the coat: We are in San Francisco after all.

Predictions for Obama's first year

Charlie and I are writing down what we think Barack Obama will do in his first year as the president of the USA.
Let's see in one year if he is meeting our expectations:

Charlie:
- Close Gitmo
- Reverse Stem Cell ban
- Schedule removal of troops from Iraq by 12/31/10
- Increase NIH budget more than 5%
- Expand Americorps

Audrey:
- Bring more than half the troops back from Iraq
- End the ban on Embryonic Stem Cell research
- Stop the embargo on Cuba
- Start Universal Health Insurance
- Increase funding for green energy more than 10%

Une paire de chiens / Pair of dogs

Je ne sais pas si c'est juste une impression ou une veritable tendance, mais il me semble que je vois de plus en plus de gens qui se promenent avec une paire de chiens. Par la, je veux dire, deux chiens identiques. Il parait qu'en decoration, il faut toujours avoir des nombres impairs, peut etre que pour les chiens, c'est mieux par paire????


I don't know if this is just an illusion or a real trend but it seems to me that more and more people are walking pairs of dogs. By that I mean that they are walking two identical dogs. I heard that in interior design, odd is always better. Maybe in dog design, pairing is a must???

Addicted to Facebook

My name is Audrey, and I am a Facebookholic.
I tried Facebook for the first time a few months ago. At first, I discovered that my husband was doing it and he seemed to really enjoy it. So I tried. It couldn't hurt right?
At the beginning it was pretty innocuous, I invited a few friends I knew, it was all nice and friendly.
But after a few weeks, I realized that I HAD TO look at my facebook page SEVERAL TIMES A DAY. I needed to know my friends' updates, see the new pictures, and let everybody know about everything I was doing or thinking.
Today, I am really proud of myself, I only looked at it once (Although technically I had no access to a computer most of the day which made it a lot easier).
And now, I talk about my addiction on my blog, for strangers to read... Talk about a schizophrenic society....
