Aujourd'hui nous avons vote pour le nouveau president de la Republique Francaise. Bien que les americains ne soient pas trop au courant (Tu as vote pour qui aujourd'hui?), c'est un sujet tres chaud dans la communaute francaise . Juste pour illustrer mon point, allez jeter un coup d'oeil sur les blogs de "Une grenouille dans la vallee", "La Tomate Farcie a San Francisco" et le site de Julien.
Donc "Madame B. a vote" et je dois reconnaitre que le consulat francais de San Francisco a appris de ses erreurs et cette fois ci avait deux salles de vote avec trois files d'attente, et nous n'avons quasiment pas attendu (au moins quand nous y etions a 9h30 parce que nous ne voulions attendre de nouveau deux heures). Mais, comme mon mari (americain) m'a fait remarquer: "Comme je suis allee voter avec un ami qui a vote pour l'autre candidat, nos votes s'annulent!". Alors la question est: Est-ce que mon vote compte vraiment?
Today we elected the new french president. Although it did not interest the americans much ("You voted for who today??"), it is the most talked about topic in the french community. Just as an example, you can check a few blogs illustrating my point: a frog in the valley, la tomate farcie a San Francisco and Julien's site.
So I did vote and I have to admit that the French Consulate in San Francisco learned from the first round two weeks ago and had two voting rooms with 3 different lines and the waiting time was almost none (at least when we went at 9.30 AM because we were so worried to have to wait two hours again). But as my (american) husband said: As I went with a friend and each of us voted for one of the candidate, our votes eliminated each other so the question now is: Did my vote really count???
